Random Dance stellt mit seiner aktuellen Choreografie "Entity" ein Crossover-Projekt im Zeichen der Genreüberschreitung vor, in dem sich erneut Wissenschaft und Tanz begegnen. Wayne McGregor, gerade  zum Choreografen des Jahres gewählt (ballettanz),  zog für diese Arbeit eigens Hirnforscher und Erkenntnistheoretiker hinzu, was keine ungewöhnliche Recherche für den jungen Erfolgschoreografen bedeutet. Seine Suche nach Körperverstehen führt unweigerlich über die Naturwissenschaften und die Erforschung des Körpers selbst, welche er in einer futuristischen, von Brüchen geprägten und zugleich sinnlichen Bewegungsästhetik ausdrückt.
Den musikalischen Klangteppich bilden die Arbeiten Jon Hopkins' - der bereits mit Coldplay und Massiv Attack gearbeitet hat - sowie des amerikanischen Komponisten Joby Talbot: elektronische Musik meets Streichquartett.

Auf den Movimentos-Festwochen 2009 in Wolfsburg gewann "Entity" den Tanzpreis in der Kategorie Beste Choreografie.

Wayne McGregor ist Leiter und Choreograf von Random Dance, der Resident Company des renommierten Londoner Tanztheaters Sadler's Wells. Daneben arbeitet er weltweit für Bühnen wie La Scala, Mailand, das Opéra Ballet de Paris, das Nederlands Dans Theater, das Stuttgarter Ballett und das English National Ballet. Aktuell ist er Resident Choreographer am Royal Ballet in London. In der Zeitschrift ballettanz wurde er in der diesjährigen Kritikerumfrage  zum besten Choreografen des Jahres gewählt.

Die Eröffnungsveranstaltung des 2. Internationalen Tanzfestivals n.o.w. dance saar wird präsentiert von Victor's Residenz Hotels.

Random Dance presents its current choreography "Entity" as a mix of genres where science and dance meet again. Wayne McGregor, who has just been elected choreographer of the year (ballettanz), called neuroscientists and cognition-theorists in for this work.  This isn’t unusual research for the young successful choreographer. His searching for body-understanding leads inevitably to natural sciences and the exploration of the body itself, which he expresses in a futuristic aesthetic, with breaks but at the same time in a sensual way. The musical ground is made of Jon Hopkins' works – who has been working with Coldplay and Massive Attack – as well as works by the American composer Joby Talbot: electronic music meets string quartet.

At the Movimentos-Festwochen 2009 in Wolfsburg, "Entity" won the dance-prize in the Best Choreography category.

Wayne McGregor is director and the house choreographer at Random Dance, the Resident Company of Sadler's Wells, the famous dance theater in London. In addition, he is working worldwide for companies such as La Scala, Milan, the Opéra Ballet de Paris, the Nederlands Dans Theater, the Stuttgarter Ballett and the English National Ballet. Currently, he is Resident Choreographer at the Royal Ballet in London. In the magazine ballettanz he was elected Best Choregrapher of the Year by the critics.

The opening event of this year’s 2nd international dance festival N.O.W. Dance Saar is presented by Victor's Residenz Hotels.

Afterwards, there will be an opening party with NO CROWS in the „Spiegelzelt“ located on the Tbilisser Platz.

With a valid ticket for a performance, the concert of the day can be attended for free.
